Yes, I am a Cov lad, a Coventry boy … home of cars and the British home of Ska, particularly through its great label – Two Tone records. As I have mentioned before, I married a Jamaican woman, strangely while living in Africa, but courtesy of my cricket loving and playing father and living at times in Foleshill I ran across ska in my youth. Indeed I did not realize it till a lot later, in the 80s while living in Sheffield, I had known someone very special – John Bradbury years before, the drummer from the Specials and part of the team to give us Selecter. All of this contributed towards my first DJ name and rig name – Arty D from RTD – Redder Than Dread.
