RiteTrax – new events in Sheffield – Golden Harvest

Posted on

It is good to make new friends – a chance visit to a cafe – Golden Harvest – with my daughter just for a cuppa and a sarnie meant chatting to people and getting to know Michael and the guy running the place. I was reminded of times I spent in the Forum at a local record shop buying all sorts and spending a little time with them. Good times. Hopefully I may be able to present some of my audio visual work, perhaps do a little vjing and also dj the odd set. Put a good word in for me guys.

A new project with lots to enjoy –

in search 1

The project as a whole will involve an e-book made available via a number of online outlets. There will also be, ultimately, a full album of music – again for sale via various outlets. I will be looking to add to the whole thing pieces of audio-visual art and music videos.

In search of lost colours

A new project I hope will stretch across a number of media – illustration, audio visual art, music, graphic e-zines and whatever else comes to mind and my ‘pen’.

I have now done further work on all of this – there are 2 tunes written already, there will, I hope, be a full album of varied tuneage to sit alongside a full range of music videos, the e-book and a whole load more …

… and to begin …

The project will ultimately comprise illustrations, text/poetry, music, music videos, audio visual art pieces and an e-book.

Enjoy!

Music videos and more

Some people are a little surprised at my taste in music given my age and background. I enjoy music ranging from that music core to my youth – the soul, northern (DaveGodin was an old friend), ska, reggae, house of most styles, dnb, breaks, african music across the board, reggae of all styles, 2 step, chillstep and so on.

Here we have a series of the music videos I have enjoyed – a hipster, baroque pop, dream pop cum neo electroish pop type, a Belgian hip hop artists with roots on Rwanda, an Eritrean music video and a whole series of those created by me.

I had to search for music after popping into a local Eritrean restaurant. The food was good, the people great, and I enjoyed the music and tv playing. As I said at the time – I felt like going back to Africa.

It is interesting to note the differences in style between the various music videos. I would so love to make some videos with some of the Eritreans – seems it would be real fun.
