ambient electronica
Sunday 9:45 – music, video, more …
There is something about that move from late summer into autumn and the heralding of the winter – cold and white. Whereas for many greys simply signify dullness, an indescription. The combination of a form of gentler music, chilled but not quite … a grey background or a collection of greys …. oddly animated colour as a contrasting highlight … mentions of water, autumnal foliage, suitably coloured in themselves, late evening, sunset …
add to it all a few words in a font or two with their own design qualities, the style and shape of the font accentuating what is expressed …

Chilled electronica – aromatiq and the house of red
There is nothing like a good small venue – the Redhouse is all that is good in terms of such – with a range of music second to none. We always used to say that we played the widest range of music in South Yorkshire, if not beyond. On a personal note, I have played ska, breaks, drum and bass, house – minimal, tech, acid and more from all over the world, Balkan beats, a whole range of African music – zouk, zouk love, kizomba, kuduro, soukous, kwaito, as well as baile funk, 2 step, chillout, ambient, mashups, trance, techno, lounge, broken beat, nujazz, nusoul, northern, motown and the list could go on. We have put on audio-visual art events. I still VJ and occasionally DJ there. The live music offered is endless.

there is
the art grown out of concept
the art grown out of technique
the art grown out of attitude
the art grown out of accident
the art grown out of mood
the art grown out of experiment
each of these I have found, played with, lived through, created and more
there is always more …
Glitch art has been around in one form or another for a little while. This first piece called ‘texture the peaks’ is just an opener for what I hope to be whole series perhaps to be called ‘Recessive Glitch’. It will combine bits and pieces of glitch as a music form, hints of dubstep, ambient electronica and some spoken word. There will be motion graphics, of course, small animations and animated backgrounds to suit. A large part of this arises out of particular mood and also accident. Times are hard and getting harder, particularly here in Sheffield.
